What we collect
When you join the Calvoara waitlist as a retailer or brand, we collect:
- Business name and business type
- Contact name, email address, and phone number
- City / location
- For brands: website and industry
Why we collect it
We use this information to:
- Match retailers with relevant brands, and brands with relevant retailers, during the founding/beta phase
- Contact you about placement opportunities and Calvoara updates
- Improve the matching process as we onboard more founding members
Who sees your information
Your details are visible to the Calvoara team facilitating manual introductions during beta. We do not sell your information to third parties. If we introduce you to a specific brand or retailer, only the details necessary for that introduction (business name, category, general location) are shared — never your direct contact details without your agreement to proceed.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information and withdraw consent at any time
- Object to your information being used for direct marketing
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your information has been mishandled

How long we keep your data
We retain waitlist information for as long as you remain an active founding member or until you request deletion, whichever comes first.
